The Chandelier

Directed and choreographed by Heidi Duckler, The Chandelier will take the audience on an epic journey from the Promenade Terrace throughout the grounds of The Wallis, culminating in the Lovelace Studio Theater. The Chandelier is based on a novel of the same title by Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector. Duckler will animate the interior monologues and devise characters from the odd fragments of dialogue to create a moving portrait of a family living amongst the ruins of a colonial society. Through layers of imagery, acts of repetition, and audience engagement, the work explores the contrasting ideas of impermanence and the irrevocable.
